Plot Summary: 
*possible spoilers* 1933: Dillinger (Depp) is a successful bank robber and is currently the biggest concern to the FBI as Public Enemy No. 1. Hoover sends agent Melvin Purvis (Bale) out to the Midwest to hunt down and arrest John Dillinger. In between crimes Dillinger meets hatcheck girl Billie Frechette who soon becomes his girlfriend. Over time Dillinger's reputation and Purvis' determination make it more and more difficult to continue life robbing banks and eventually to lose ground in the 'War on Crime'.
